Held in Blue

Held in the Blue is a collection of watercolor works exploring the fragile boundary between land and water, calm and chaos, presence and absence. Each piece captures a moment suspended in time — where the storm may be arriving or fading, and the viewer is left to interpret the tension in the air.

Through deep indigo washes, layered textures, and shoreline imagery, the series evokes the emotional weight of weather and the metaphors it carries. The figures and landscapes within these paintings are not merely subjects, but vessels of quiet resistance, reflection, and release.

Whether it’s a man pulling a net from a lake in the dark, or a horizon heavy with cloud, each scene invites contemplation of what lies beneath — both in water and in self. The storm is never fully seen but always felt.

This exhibit is an invitation to linger in ambiguity, to find meaning in the in-between, and to be held — if only for a moment — in the blue.
